What Is Included in Our Racking Maintenance Service?
The scope of each pallet rack maintenance visit depends on the storage system, its condition and the work already identified.
Racking Condition Checks: The affected bays and components are checked to confirm the work required. This may include uprights, beams, bracing, baseplates, floor fixings, locking devices and rack protection. These checks help us plan the maintenance work. They do not replace a formal inspection of the full racking installation.
Repairs and Replacement Components: Our engineers identify the racking system, confirm the correct repair method and source compatible replacement components. Work is planned around your operations to keep disruption to a minimum. Where the same areas are repeatedly damaged, we can recommend suitable rack protection or practical changes that may help prevent further impacts.
Maintenance Records and Recommended Actions: Completion photos and a signed report are provided after the work. This gives warehouse managers and health and safety teams a clear record of the components repaired or replaced.
Any further action is recorded so it can be prioritised and scheduled, reducing the risk of outstanding work being overlooked.

How Racking Maintenance Supports PUWER and HSG76 Compliance
Regulation 5 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 requires work equipment to be maintained in an efficient state, efficient working order and good repair.
HSE guidance in HSG76 states that racking damage should be reported immediately to the Person Responsible for Racking Safety. Visual inspections should take place weekly or at other regular intervals based on risk, with expert inspections completed by a technically competent person at intervals of no more than 12 months.
HSG76 also recommends keeping records of inspections, damage and repairs. Where damage affects the safety of the racking, the affected area should be offloaded and prevented from returning to use until the necessary remedial work is complete.
A structured maintenance process helps businesses act on damage reports and inspection findings. It supports compliance but does not replace internal reporting, regular visual checks or formal racking inspections.
