What is Steel Partitioning?

Steel partitioning is a highly versatile, effective, and durable method of dividing or subdividing warehouses into separate spaces in order to maximise your floorspace. They are commonly used as an economic way to create offices, control spaces, or welfare facilities within a larger work environment.

Panels are quick and easy to install, meaning there is no disruption to business operations. This also means they are easily changeable and can be flexible to a businesses varying needs. They can be configured in any height, width, or multi-tier systems to integrate with your existing environment.

Steel partitions can be installed as a single or double ‘skin’ to increase stability and safety.

The main benefits of a single skin steel partition are in regard to its cost effectiveness, and fast installation. It is a modular and flexible option that offers strength and durability at a lower price point, but can still be customised with safety glass, and doors and lockings. The panels are bolted to the floor which means it has the added benefit of being demountable and relocatable with a minimum of effort.

Examples of single skin steel partitions:

Double skin steel partitions are preferred where there are additional performance requirements, such as fire ratings and sound or thermal insulation. It has a flush-faced skin on both sides and allows insulation to be fitted between the two layers. It also offers a much more aesthetically pleasing finish than single skin options.This is a more expensive option but offers greater benefits than single skin. The panels sit in a floor channel and lock into adjacent panels by means of an internal locking channel making installation fast, simple and secure.

Examples of double skin steel partitions:

Steel partitions provide separate and secure spaces for people, processes, and products. They can be used to create staff facilities such as offices, break rooms, canteens, or toilets within the larger warehouse area. They can also provide a safe and secure working environment for those undertaking hazardous or sensitive processes that should be isolated from the larger business space.
